How can a Vaccine be safe for a 30 year old, but not a 29 year old?

Anything you put into your body carries a risk. The AZ vaccine is safer than drinking alcohol, crossing the street or flying on a commercial flight.

I doubt that you will be offered a choice of vaccines so it will probably be AZ or nowt, this isn't a supermarket. Take the vaccine it is the safest "risky thing" you will do this year.

I am 49, turn 50 in a few months so have missed out on the stage 9 vaccination. There always has to be a cut-off. Some 50-59 year olds are healthier than some 40-49 olds but you must have lines in the sand or you would never get anywhere. Was listening to the radio today and scientist was saying that if the AZ vac was for head aches it would be withdrawn due to the possible side effects, but it isn't for head aches, its for a deadly disease that if it dosn't kill you can leave you with life long disabilities. He also stated that all medicines can have side effects to some degree and if it didn't then it probably dosn't work.

Ive had the AZ vaccine. It makes me want to rip the shirt from my body, reveal the letter S and fly.

Well not quite but put it into perspective I know of noone who has taken this vaccine and had anything untoward. The odd one has had a headache the morning after. I do know however people who have died from Covid including a relative sadly. I wouldnt hesitate. The risk to consider isn’t in the vaccine.
My brother had to get paramedics out as his heart was racing. They told him that they have had quite a few call outs with the same thing but were told to keep it to themselves. He didn't have to go to hospital but it gave him a scare. He is still going to have second dose.

I'm 32.... so I've lost all confidence now in AZ.... when it gets offered

BBC: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-56665517

Under-30s in the UK are to be offered an alternative Covid vaccine to the AstraZeneca jab due to the evidence linking it to rare blood clots.

The recommendation comes after a review by the UK drugs regulator found that by the end of March 79 people had suffered rare blood clots after vaccination - 19 of whom had died.
But you are not 29 or under so you wont be offered anything. Take or leave it is your choice.

It’s not a secret it’s on the nhs official site

I would hazard a guess that more people die from adverse reactions to paracetamol than from this vaccine
For the number of tonnes of paracetamol consumed each year, adverse reactions are very minor. I've tried to find anyone who's died from normal dosage and it doesn't seem to have killed anyone.

The suicide rate from deliberate overdoses is about twice the number of deaths from the AZ vaccine reported today.

The other factor to consider is how many people have blood clots under normal circumstances - approximately 3000 a month according to one source. For those concerned about the AZ vaccine, you should know that clotting was forecast by a UK scientist (I forget his name), and that he said ALL the vaccines dealing with the "spike protein" are potentially going to cause issues. I'm no virologist so have no idea about the veracity or otherwise of the comments. I merely repeat someone who appeared to be knowledgeable on the topic.

And evidently the guy was right, because while the US does not have AZ vaccinations, it has had 106 cases of "thrombosis" so far. 65 of those cases were from the Pfizer vaccine. There's some suggestion the Pfizer vaccine may even be worse than AZ.

The CDC has an interesting vaccine event database that captures data for all vaccines issued in the US.

If this puts 30-50 year olds off vaccinations, you might as well close the pubs again because there won’t be enough people with vaccine passports to warrant keeping them open.
Well it shouldn't. The risk is small and there are different vaccines out there
