Brexit - the positives

Positive of Brexit

The UK has more power to shape its regulatory environment and cut taxes. It already has one of the lowest rates of company tax in Europe, but the country could go further. The government could also expand the “patent box”, which reduces taxes on profit from patented inventions to foster research & development. It was constrained by EU rules on state aid
Absolutely made up that a government that hates me has a further abstract ability to line their mates' pockets.

Really makes removing my Freedom of Movement and jeopardising the peace in Northern Ireland worthwhile.

Brexit positive
The trade agreement with the US will cut tariffs on products such as Scotch whisky, cars and ceramics, and also create more opportunities for exporting services, which make up 80% of Britain’s economy. It will also lead to greater variety and cheaper food by opening up the domestic market to US agricultural products.

Brexit positive
To help develop domestic production, the UK will be able to set its own state-aid rules, meaning it could expand the amount of financial support it gives to promote specific industries. Increasing government intervention in the economy could also help fulfil the goal of rejuvenating poorer parts of Britain such as Teesside and “level up” the economy

That assumes that the trade agreement will actually be approved. That looks increasingly unlikely given all the problems with Ireland and the GFA.

Brexit positive
"Getting Brexit done is going to be a positive because it will lift some of the uncertainty that’s been hanging over the economy and investment in particular,” said Jessop at the Institute of Economic Affairs. “Having independence over trade policy and regulatory policy is a good thing.”

It's great this, I could go on all night 👍

Cheaper food of a lower standard?

We got old off by the "project fear" lot for guessing what was going to happen. I guess @Nobby_Barnes doesn't have to follow the same rules?

Still, his one on corporation tax is interesting. He says we can cut corporation tax. And we have, from 20% to, checks notes, 25%...

Oh well lets hope his other wild predictions are less incorrect.

Doesn't help. Tax payers money into industries that would then incur compensatory tariffs when exported.

That could be very bad for our own agricultural industry.

Lack of uncertainty is a positive.

I know and in all honesty I kind of agree with them on that one , when I’m having a cup of tea and trying to watch the news to have it disturbed by that fella is far too much :)
Is there anything in the new policing bill you don't agree with?

Never mind BoroFur, one positive I'm always on your mind so I must be doing something right hey 🤔😏

Have a nice day ☺️
Keep deluding yourself Erimus. You clearly cannot come up with a single benefit of Brexit otherwise we'd have heard it from you by now.

Stay off the political threads like you promised and stick to nostalgia (y)

Not deluding just a fact really

Yet for no apparent reason you mentioned me, as I said I must be constantly on your mind, so yes I'm doing something good

Have a nice day 😉👌
