Well ain't Keir Starmer a grand man...

Oh dear Chris, you do understand that the "..." means that his actual statement has been chopped up for nefarious reasons.

What he ACTUALLY said was "Moving parts of the Treasury to Darlington, creating a few freeports and re-announcing funding. That isn't levelling up, that is giving up.".

His comment wasn't anti-darlington, it was that throwing the north a few scraps isn't enough, and you know what HE IS BLOODY RIGHT.

Now I would like to know why Peter Gibson is being so dishonest with his tweet, ah because he is a Tory!

The 3 'dots' after Darlington is the giveaway but ChrisTheRed in his scramble to pin anything negative on Labour fails to recognise that.

“For the chancellor, ‘levelling up’ seems to mean moving some parts of the Treasury to Darlington, creating a few freeports and re-announcing funding,” he said. “That isn’t levelling up, it’s giving up.”

Starmer Hindsight giving up blah, blah, blah, Tory love in, Tory love in.....cap doff, cap doff...

On a serious note, remind me how Rishi is going to pay the bill for his Santa Claus act?

I'm not a Tory fan at all but it's obvious that we the public will pay for it. We can't exactly invoice the virus can we?

All more in the budget than the Teesside area has ever had in my 50 ish years of hearing budgets, generally delivered to help the South.

They seem to know people live north of Northampton now (used to be said, north of Watford).

But until the HS train system begins in the North instead of continuing to spunk millions in the SE they are paying lip service to developing the North.

If the new train system is meant to help anywhere in the North then surely it should not be about making it easier to get to London.
It should make it easier to commute from say Peterborough to York/Leeds

Well at least he was ‘honest’ with us today in saying that his spending spree would have to be paid for.

He didn’t go so far as to point out that he can’t invoice the virus, at least he wasn’t that patronising.

Anyone with half a brain cell knew we would be paying for it last year.

Or should they have just sat on their hands and let looting take over once everybody had ran out of money?

What other choice would any government have if they forced the country to close?
