Woodgate

If he can’t get that squad promoted or at least secured in the play offs he really is a shambles.

don't really get the hostility towards him he did his best for the Boro, it would of been a tough job for any manager taking over after Pulis, especially an inexperienced manager, hopefully we can both make the play offs, with us beating them in the final :)

There is zero chance they finish in top 6. Would wager £20 with anyone that they’ll finish outside. He’s tactically inept.

There absolutely has to be something there that we have not seen! That is an aspirational appointment for a lot of time served managers, what does Woodgate have to get that job following such a disappointing time with Boro. This one could come back to bite us in the ****.

Bournemouth still have a lot of Premier League players, Its a tough act for us to finish above them.

Woody has done well for himself to manage a team who are currently sixth when we were always bottom half under him.

I'd say most are respectful for whats he's done, and the way he's handled himself. The anger is at 'those upstairs' for making, or not making, great decisions over recent months
It’s a shocker of a decision really by the Bournemouth hierarchy and I’ll be amazed if they now make the playoffs

CHERRIES have hired Gary O'Neil as a new first-team coach.
Former Portsmouth, West Ham and Norwich midfielder O'Neil played alongside Cherries' new boss Jonathan Woodgate at Middlesbrough during the 2007-08 season.
Cherries had been a man light in the coaching department. Woodgate was hired at the start of this month to work under manager Jason Tindall, replacing the departing Graeme Jones.
However, two days later Tindall was sacked and Woodgate placed in interim charge. The 41-year-old then became the club's permanent head coach at the weekend and has now been allowed to bring in another member of staff to work underneath him.

O'Neil, 37, arrives armed with a UEFA Pro License and before getting the call from Cherries had previously been working as an under-23s assistant coach at Premier League champions Liverpool.

To be honest, he received dogs abuse. Was he a good manager? Of course not. Was the personal abuse justified? Not in the least. He wasn’t accepted from day one in a lot of people’s eyes- and boy did they let him know.
JW “There was an agenda even before I got the job. People didn’t want me to get the job. I’d say it was 50/50 or maybe 60/40 against me getting the job from the supporters."
NYD I think most folks wanted an experienced manager, Monk wasted millions and Pulis had us playing some awful football. His best decisions were forced thru injury.

JW “I got the job, results weren’t going our way and I was just getting a barrage of abuse"
NYD Brought on by not playing how he set out to play.. bringing on Gestede and throwing the plan out of the window at the first opportunity.

JW You change it around, win four on the spin and win manager of the month and then they’re all with you.
NYD Forces charges brought about thru injury.. almost exactly like like Tony Pulis.

JW Then the next minute you lose a couple and it’s bang, bang, bang again.”
NYD The next minute you're club is facing the prospect of relegation with none of the staff seemingly confident of what what going wrong or how to turn it around.

I like most fans did not want an inexperienced coach stepping into the big seat, but as it was revealed that JW was going to take the hot seat, I like most other fans got behind him 100% to say otherwise is a pretty big slap in the face. When he got the job at Bournemouth despite them being direct competition for our promotion chances I still wished him well and hoped there would be some scenario where both Middlesbrough and Woodgate could prosper. Imagining a Boro v Bournemouth play off final with Middlesbrough winning and Woodgate being offered the Bournemouth job on a permeant basis.

Not sure I'm too bothered now to be honest, the more I see of JW's snide comments against us boro fans who backed him, supported him and sang his name throughout matches. Johnny Bournemouth can do one! Lets have a Boro vs Cardiff final and bury a few ghosts of the past!!
