Howson oh dear

No, I'm just a Boro 'SUPPORTER' that wants us to do well. Season ticket for 54 years. That cant stand criticism from anyone when its directed at my team.
What's 'comeonboro' ?
You don’t expect criticism after that horrendous performance we served up? Football ain’t for you if that’s the case.

If you can’t stand criticism then I’m not sure the internet, let alone a football forum, is for you.

Warnock said Howson was the best midfielder in the Division a few weeks ago. Just a bad night tonight. No defence behind him and no striker making runs to pass to doesn’t help like.

Never ever seen why he is loved
Back in team last 10 games
Won 3 drew1 lost 6
Before that he injured we won 4/5

why the love in no pace at all
Wells ran faster with the ball

bench him Neil
We need creativity and pace
Totally agree. I get his game is about being neat and tidy but to be effective he needs to play alongside someone whos more dynamic and direct, like Tav. He’s ok but had peaked when we signed him and nowhere near the best midfielder in the league. Makes far to many mistakes that are costly. (See tonights result) and doesn’t directly influence a game the way your maim man needs to like Leadbitter, Clayton, Boateng did. Never been fussed or understood the fawning over someone that’s just slightly better than average at best. Think its because he looks cool. Roll the dice put McNair in midfield. We’re safe, go and try and win games rather than not lose. Hall looked good since coming back and its Fry thats been the key to our defence

Agreed I believe he's kind of lost his appetite doesn't have the same intensity as under Pulis so something isn't right with him-- maybe he's just take too many kicks. His first game back from injury he was excellent but he's just not there right now-- I would have dropped him and the keeper.

Can't remember him having a worse game than last night, was comfortably the worst player on the pitch.

Howsons not the problem. Although he was poor Tuesday, i noticed he was blowing out of his **** at Reading.
Hes probably our best player.
Hes probably fatigued, due to the amount of ground he has to cover.
Him and Morsey. have to fill the middle of the pitch because our wing backs are too wide and are defenders playing as attacking players,
our centre backs also pull out far too wide and Mcnair especially likes to push on, leaving huge gaps when we more often than not lose possesion quickly, and get overturned , other teams have far more pace throughout them ( it seems ) also technical ability and just move straight through us.
I know a lot of people like Bola ( he seems a nice lad ) but his distribution is poor, often coming to nothing, I feel Johnson would be much better suited to this system.
We have no leaders on the pitch, especially at centre back, really need a commanding centre half, ala ironically Nigel Pearson type , someone to ******* people, gee em up to raise their game , the whole squad is far too meek ( Morsey excepted ).
Confidence is all but can only get you so far, a major overhaul required in the summer, whether we can afford it remains to be seen.
Its the hope that gets to you !

I remember under Woodgate away at Barnsley - you know the match where everyone gets drunk and grumpy in big numbers - and at half time filing back towards the bar people were going through the team slagging people off and suddenly it was Jonny Howson's turn for attention.
"Howson, rubbish midfielder."
Someone replied but he has playing at right back and doing well there.
"No, that doesn't matter, he was bought as a midfielder and he is a rubbish midfielder."
Yeah. Ok.
