Have they postponed Wednesdays races then? The enforced break may well help them out. Be interesting to see how/if they come back.

Almost certainly now. Just heard Ainslie interviewed and he’s very despondent. Knows it’s all over. Disappointed as was hoping we could race UK in the final. They haven’t been in the final since 1964.Yep, looks like us,and Luna rossa tbh
Sorry NZB, I just can't get into a 'sport' where you need many millions, if not billions to 'compete'.For any of you that are up, Ben Ainslie doing well so far
No different from elite football now. You need millions if not billions to compete at the very top level.Sorry NZB, I just can't get into a 'sport' where you need many millions, if not billions to 'compete'.
And I know I'll be called treacherous for not waving my Team NZ flag, but it's a pass time for the rich (apart it seems from NZ where many people I know own boats, from 15 foot tinnies to huge launches) and I just can't get excited about it at all. In fact the sooner its all over the better for me.
Don't get me wrong, I love a day on the water and have watched many sailing races, and when I used to live in the Bay of Islands I have crewed on yachts during races (basically told when to hang on and lean over side while it tacked) and appreciate the skill needed to handle a boat but the Americas Cup leave me cold.
I'd rather watch tiddlywinks
Predictable in the end. Italians dominant. Ainslie gave it his all but the boat was inferior especially in those conditions. And its over. Final result
Italy Luna Rossa 7 UK Ineos 1
Sadly the low wind just wasn't good for Ainslie but the Italians had much the better boat.
There was some hope when Ineos looked very good in the round robin races but the Italian boat was able to make adjustments to their hull in the time when US were repairing their boat.
Look forward now to the Americas Cup Final in a couple of weeks time. Luna Rossa v Emirates New Zealand.
It’s a good point about football. Ineos invested £110 m into the challenge. Not billions. Bayern Munich recieved exactly the same amount from their main sponsor just this year.No different from elite football now. You need millions if not billions to compete at the very top level.
No it's a fair point. I think though any elite sport (NFL, Premier League, Champions League) etc you need billions, not millions.Sorry NZB, I just can't get into a 'sport' where you need many millions, if not billions to 'compete'.
