Chelsea are in free fall.
Couldn't happen to a nicer bunch, love it, hopefully they will end up a yoyo club like they used to be, not that long agoChelsea are in free fall.
They seem to be a very well ran club. Given the transfers they've received and the fact that they should make Champions League football, they should be able to get a decent striker in the summer. I think their main problem might be keeping hold of the likes of Maddison. As metioned, money talks and Utd/Chelsea offer more money.Wonder when big clubs and owners will stop giving the manager's job to inexperienced players who were a legend for them.
Lampard is out of his depth. The job at Derby he did was ok, given the talent he had available. But you look at some of the managers out there, and Lampard is far below the standard Chelsea should be having when it comes to employing a manager.
Just because you have a warchest of £150m/£200m to spend, doesn't mean it guarantees success.
Similar to Utd with Ole. 4 semi's in a row he's lost. Bombed out the CL when top of the group and hasn't come close to winning a trophy. They don't even play good football. No doubt it won't be long until they're trying to scrape a CL place in the league.
As for Brendan Rogers. He's a brilliant manager. He has Leicester punching well above their weight. Even last season they were brilliant, only just losing out on a CL place on the very last day. It's going to be interesting how he replaces Vardy mind. Iheanacho is nowhere near good enough to fill those shoes.
They thoroughly deserved the 3 points last night. They were better than Chelsea all over the pitch from the 1st minute, to the last. They're actually a very good team to watch too. They have some excellent players.
To be honest.Wonder when big clubs and owners will stop giving the manager's job to inexperienced players who were a legend for them.

Rodgers is outstanding. Bit unlucky not to win the league with Liverpool, did a great job with Swansea, did as expected with Celtic (essentially a career break though that one, can't take that league seriously). Has that rare ability to play attractive and successful football. Doesn't seem to need to spend big, but can get the best out of big name players.Wonder when big clubs and owners will stop giving the manager's job to inexperienced players who were a legend for them.

Still only 47 too.
Rather they just went down and kept going down never to be seen again.Couldn't happen to a nicer bunch, love it, hopefully they will end up a yoyo club like they used to be, not that long ago
I still don't understand why a bigger club don't come sniffing.Rodgers is outstanding. The likes of Spurs/Arsenal/Chelsea/Utd have all signed managers who play worse football than him and (barring Jose) all have a worse CV.
I'm sure it would be very difficult for Rodgers to turn them down if one of them (especially Chelsea) keep calling.
Why would a manager of a team top of the Premiership - highly likely to finish in the top four - if not Champions [again] want to join a vegetable cart like Arsenal, Chelsea or Spuds?I still don't understand why a bigger club don't come sniffing.

Rodgers is 'coming of age' as a manager and credit to him. Money doesn't necessarily bring results(see Chelsea), it's that combination of a good manager , getting the players to improve and push on buying players for the right reasons.I simply don't think Leicester get enough credit. They are bright and pacy / youthful. They have spent feck all in relation to the clubs around them. All this despite losing top players every summer.
I think many 'bigger' clubs would have Rodgers in a flash. I'm sure spurs/arsenal and UTD fans would rather have him.
The recruitment team at Leicester has to be one of the best in the prem. They have 5-6 players they could sell for multiple amounts of what they paid.
Imagine Rodgers with 250mil

"Big" club syndrome?
