Big shout out to the Shopkeepers and Supermarket staff.

I know the NHS are getting roundly applauded and rightly so but would just like to say a big thanks to all the shop workers and supermarket staff. As people can see they are also doing a fantastic job. Went to Morrisons in Redcar this morning it was really well organised. Queuing 5 metres apart and only took 5 minutes to get in. Those in there had enough room to keep their distance. Shelves were well stocked with only pasta, toilet rolls and all beans but Heinz sold out. Well organised at the check out with only on allowed to approach at any one time. Same with the smaller shops like the butchers I went to. Only two in at any one time.

A big big thanks to all concerned and all those others who are keeping open for our essential services and making this whole lock down thing just a bit more bearable.

Had a walk in Goodwin's in Redcar yesterday, it was like walking in a television studio with a the marks on the floor showing you where to stand. Well organised and well stocked, picked my few bits and pieces up and back home. Redcar we very quiet yesterday.

Yes well done to all of them. They all deserve our thanks.

Walked up to my local Aldi yesterday afternoon and very well organised and everyone distancing etc.
Very well stocked and got what I needed and filled my backpack and headed home.
I found it reassuring that this was the case, as I can only see the restrictions to go out getting tighter very soon.

I think the problem was never amounts of food but just the transportation from depots and getting it put out on shelves. With the gvts relaxing of rules to allow lorry drivers to work without restriction I think the supply chain is well placed to match the demand.hopefullh this in itself will make the demand fall to more reasonable levels.

Must be nice to have time to go shopping. Without The job I do quite a few wouldn't be able to get into work, be it shop workers, NHS or whatever.
Went to Redcar Morrisons in Redcar in my uniform during my break to get something to eat.
I genuinely didn't see the small number of people stood there and walked towards the door. This woman stood there arms spread saying 1 word " queue". I said sorry didn't see it but I'm a key worker on my break trying to get something to eat. She totally blanked me and held her arms spread.
Even I'd she said wait til the next person comes out and you can go in, but no nothing.
I hope I have the pleasure of stopping her or her colleagues who might be letting her get home from being a le to get there due to over crowding.
Then I get home to find wife , who works in a care home on 12 hour back shifts, tell8ng me that Morrisons Berwick Hills had taken care workers off their list of priority workers. So couldn't get a bit of help shopping.
So yeah, you can praise shop workers all you like but Morrisons will never get my custom again.

Horrible experience for you. Just a plea really, there are eejits everywhere including those in shops.
Generally they are doing a great job - don’t let one person put you off Morrisons (and I work for the competition)

I can get over my incident. Its the fact that they have stopped care home workers from having a chance to shop. Not so much us because we will get by but what about others?

Cheers for the offer Paul. I'm off tomorrow so hopefully will be able to get out and fo a bit.
I reckon I'm more annoyed because we probably take most of the staff to work and I xant even get something to eat on my break from there.
As you might have gathered, I work at Redcar now, transferred there 10 years ago. Often pass your house (if you still live in the same house lol)

i feel youre frustration, but theyre putting up with **** also, was in there earlier in the week and the girl on the till was saying it swamped early on and ****. are going in trying to stockpile stuff and when they get told they can only have so much they leave put their stuff in the car and come back in and go round again, not sure why theyre not letting care staff in as priority workers, seems odd but therell be a reason. let me know what you want to eat and ill be stood waiting with it for you, we moved in 2008 so different house but still in redka

Just told Robbo that you have appeared, he said to tell you to get the beers in the Bay for us all as soon as it re opens.

bang goes my self employed money rishi just promised me if im buying beer for you n robbo ;)
