Andy Preston facing serious allegations

Careful what you post as unlike national stories that prob won’t be picked up on local ones very well could and are dangerous on here especially ones based on allegations and “talk”

I think the reputation and standing of public servants can be significantly damaged by allegations that have no merit - I'm not saying thats the case here, only that its very easy to weaponise such things in order to score points.

Can't see the libel myself.

Point it out please.

You don't need to see it, thats not how it works. If an allegation of libel is brought on the poster and the site by the person accused of wrong doing by linking other allegations together in a way that could defame them, under civil law it would be up to the defenders to prove their statement to be true.

Would it happen, I highly highly doubt it but never the less, its right to warn people about the possibility that it could happen, especially given it is a local issue.

Just to note, further clarification has been added. What statement would have to be proved true?

Your post linking the two.

The BBC story is a call for an inquiry into the costs of a scaled back development with a response from both parties.

Your post implies something that both articles do not.

Therefore you would have to prove it means what you stated it means as the onus would be on you to do so if brought to a civil court.

Don't want to be that party pooper, but I've seen more frivolous cases carried due to the nature of civil law.

I didn't state in my post that they were linked. Anyway, I've edited to avoid any confusion.

How long does it take the council to asses these things? Seems whatever happened, happened in February.
