Celeb social media during this pandemic

I don’t really do Celeb social media but from reading the papers and seeing Other posts on things like twitter it seems that some celebs are just using this awful crisis to boost their following ratings etc.

Btw I’m not talking about the stars doing home based concerts as these are brilliant but I’m referring you oh poor me posts from Z listers.

I agree with sky sports reporters that social media is not needed now it’s time for top flight mega billion clubs need to stand up and help the local area at this time.

I also think it’s disgusting how they all rush to be tested (when showing zero symptoms) then post about how they are fine ( Pompey tester their entire squad yesterday for instance) so kudos to Lewis Hamilton for declining such a test as others are more in need.

Picking up on the last sentence.

The recent new owner of UD Almería has just donated 1.2 million euros to Almería city council. To help them deal with the situation. 500,000 one day. Followed by 700,000 then next.

Fantastic Spanish man. I see Roma have done something similar as well.

Whereas Man U and man city have donated 100k (yes it’s great but really) between them.

I do agree to most of this but I think the celebrity’s on social media have a better chance at getting the message across to the younger generation.

Yes That’s true but the self isolation selfie does seem to be the latest craze, there’s a lot of self centred me me me around it as well.

I think anything that gets the message across and saves lives is a good thing in this instance, if the reasoning self publicity but the result has a positive impact surely that greater good is more important than the motivation ?

Lots of celebs will be at highest risk of catching it as folk don't want an autograph these days. They want to cuddle in for a selfie.

However, we normal people will be cooped up in small houses without the home cinema and gym equipment too. We build rabbit hutches in this country and a lot of people are going to get cabin fever very quickly.

There is no act too small or too trivial if it has an impact on at least one person.

If some underground jungle DJ, a footballer or an actor post a social distancing selfie, tik-tok or Instagram and it influences someone then it is job done in my book.

If a celeb can get through to my 17yr old daughter then I'm all for it. I'm failing miserably. I heard her on the phone complaining saying "my hypochondriac dad won't let me out".
