Sir Lewis Hamilton

I admit he deserves it, and without doubt I would give him it, but this is a bloke and his ilk who thinks it right not to contribute to the UK.

Lots of rich people stay here he and the other tax Dodgers are not role models.

If you earn £100m a year pay the £45m I tax, what difference does it make? In 5 years you have almost £250m in the bank and can look in the mirror.
You insist that he doesn't contribute to the UK but he does. He's in the top 5000 tax payers. He also pays tax in 19 other countries that he earns money in.

If this is right then perhaps I'm not as much with blot as I thought I was. Though he is, technically, a tax exile, isn't he?

One of us is grasping at straws but the facts remain that although Hamilton earns money in 20 countries, he makes the top 5000 in UK tax payers. If he was a tax exile that figure would be zero.
Of course he will pay tax in every country he wins a race, same as golfers, tennis players, it's how tax works . He does not want to pay his dues to the NHS, Defense, Education you can mask it any way you want.

Away from Lewis this reminds of Gary Barlow releasing a free single praising the nhs.

The same Gary Barlow that spent years on tax avoidance schemes

How do they think the nhs is paid for.

Where does he sit in the top 5000 earners in this country?

Does his position correlate with his position in the top 5000 taxpayers?

He doesn't live in this country.
I never said he did but i’ll rephrase

He’s in the top 5000 taxpayers in this country

Does his position on that list match his position on the “top 5000 earned who are liable to UK tax”

Without knowing, him being in the top 5000 taxpayers doesnt really mean much.

He could be 4999 on the taxpayers list but actually be in the top 500 earnings liable to UK tax and therefore it would be there are people earning less money than him thats subject to UK tax but paying more tax than him.

And if that is the case then he’s avoiding paying his fair share to the UK and depriving the UK citizens of much needed public resources

In that case I honestly don't know. But living in Monaco, and having the financial advisors that are available to him, the fact that he is in the top 5000 contributors does not suggest that he doesn't want to contribute, which is TAB's argument.
