Boro beaten by themselves

Tav unlucky to slip , and even so , many refs would have still given it .
Is Tav our designated penalty taker ?
Howson would be my choice .

Coulson made a rash challenge he should not have made , school boy error
2 decisions cost us , but on the whole we gave them a close contest , and just need to start scoring / shooting / having a pop .
They are now top of the league so no shame I. The result , we won’t have many tougher games IMO
Dust down , and get ready for the next game .

Warnock is getting more leeway than was accorded to Pulis. If we continue to drift along in a depressing run of 0-0s and 1-0 wins and defeats it won't last much longer. That said the personnel available to Norwich was largely PL class bringing on Internationals as we brought on kids. But we aren't much fun to watch.

Warnock has far fewer players to work with than pullis had.

I think we could utilise Roberts in the same way Norwich utilised Buendia. Thought he was class for them.

There is a world of difference between the football of Pulis and Warnock. I am sure Warnock would have thrived and promoted us with the skillset Pulis inherited from Monk, compared to the super results he gets from a limited squad with a poor final 3rd. I dread to think where we would be or what we would watch with Pulis in charge of this lot.

Think Neil Warnock disagrees with you on that & so do i
He's gone on record & again today that he enjoys watching us

What Warnock has done is taken a team that could best be described as on its knees last season and turned it into an outfit that has full respect of the opposition and most of its fans. Of course there are deficiencies, but there is also a degree of hope, with people looking forward to each game.

Given last season and our lack of resources Warnock is going to continue to get a lot “leeway” as far as I am concerned this season. One defeat in 11 isn’t going to start any doubts in my mind. I don’t much care about the method but we look more cohesive than the Pulis team.

I still don't think Warnock has the players he needs to go 'full Warnock'. He's definitely missing wingers and a Keifer Moore type.

The lack of goals from setplays is a massive issue. Cardiff scored 21 goals in the promotion season. We don't ever look like scoring😕

A lack of attacking resource - maybe - but Assombalonga, Roberts, Watmore and co continue to sit on the bench. Akpom doesn't look like scoring, why not try two strikers? Or play Roberts? The emphasis still seems to be on not losing, which I suppose is a hangover from last season, but really it's lacking ambition. Push more men forward and see if it results in goals.

They usually are at least threating, but very poor yesterday. Hall provided some serial threat and looked good at winning corners/free kick headers.

Agree with the OP.

We should have won the match yesterday and but for Tav’s slip we probably would have done, the disallowed goal gave Norwich a big lift.

The doubters would then have been keeping quiet and the rest of us would have been celebrating a great win.

People on here say we can’t score goals but I don’t see any other team able to score many goals against us either.

We will be back 👍

Here’s a novel idea, play Wing as a striker! At least he would take a shot. Limited footballers can make it as strikers. What have we to lose? Our present strikers are insipid, ineffective so desperate times call for different methods.

No offence Nosmo, but I would not play wing in midfield where he is supposed to be best, so up front, no. I would sooner play Browne in that role if push came to shove.

I would play Browne also. When you look back in years one of our best ever strikers was a converted defender - Big John Hickton

I do think that lack of goals may start to be an issue with some of our fans. Warnock is doing as well as can be expected with a squad that whilst not as bad as some people think was devoid of confidence when he was appointed.

We have the back 7 positions in decent shape with Keeper, Dijksteel, Bola, Fry, McNair, Howson and Saville.
There is some cover and lots of flexibility, but not perhaps enough.
But further forward we are much much weaker; wide, creative and finishing.
I'm absolutely not writing off Spence, Coulson, Tavernier, but they are a long way off the relative quality we have in defence and the midfield base.
We have needed width at pace, creativity and a line leader who can finish for a long time.
This is the legacy left by monk (who bought horrendously, summed up by the disastrous "Britt" and "Fletch") and pulis who wasted the opportunity he had with squad size, quality/wage bill and budget to sign (£20m).
We still do need quality in the forward four and until the decks are cleared in the summer, the wizard will have to work with what he has I suspect.
