Best Boro left-back of the modern era

Seeing as we are struggling for quality at left back, I thought I’d depress us all some more by thinking of some of the great Boro full backs.

Since the PL came into existence the best full back is surely Franck? Ziege was truly class bit would consider him as a wing-back more than a full back. Honourable mention in that department to Dean Gordon too. Could have been a Boro great were it not for his shocking injury. Excellent player though.

In my time time Defiently Frank. Never seen Ziege but he looked to have a hell of a left foot, I believe he was mainly deployed as a wing back though?

Probably should of fully thread your OP before replying. You mentioned the wing back bit already 😂

The modern era Ziege no question followed by Franck and George.Terry Cooper the best I've seen prior to that with Ian Bailey an honourable mention. No doubt the best was Hardwick but don't think anybody on here will have seen him.

In my time Terry Cooper with an honorable mention for Gordon Jones and Frank Q.

Depends what you call the modern era I guess. In my time I have no doubt it is Terry Cooper.

In the Riverside era it is a tough call between Alan Wright and Christian Ziege, but Ziege edges it 😉

We've had some great ones over the years, Colin Cooper, Dean Gordon, Quedrue, Alan Wright (joking), but Zeige was on a different level entirely, absolute class, albeit he's probably not the most popular either.
