Most impressed with....

I liked you comment Erimus about Boam and Maddren and other partnerships, threesomes now mind.
Once you instil that sort of mentality in the group of players it can have massive mental and confidence impact on your side. They will have bad days of course but we need this telepathic trio to evolve to go places again.

Out team is looking a lot more balanced now than it has for 4/5 years.

We look so good at the back and it's getting back to a few years ago when 1 goal could be enough.

We need to be more clinical in the final 3rd, but as long as we keep it tight at the back and look solid defensively, then we will always be in the game.

Such a huge improvement on the last 3 years worth of absolute tripe that was served up.

Saville definitely shone in a more forward role past from his goal he seemed to get forward into the box on several occasions.
McNair better have a few rubbish games in December to put off the Premier league clubs

We look very solid and organised. Only negative for me last night was the wingbacks. So important for us in that system that they give us an outlet and provide some decent delivery. Agree with all the positives though. Impressed with Morsy and thought Fry was very good. I’ve been one of Fry’s biggest critics but hopefully he’s starting to step up and can have a big season.

I mentioned on another thread yesterday that for me, the most important thing was letting Roberts get competitive minutes under his belt. He did that and looked good. I would have been happy with a draw so winning away v the top team s a real bonus.

I posted on a different thread that I thought NW is putting together a very decent team.

Happy days!!

Deal Fry was immense last night Chris Martin tried to bully him and ended up throwing hissy fits, flinging his arms about like Kevin the teenager and getting the hook.

Saville MOTM though but.

I've also never been Frys' biggest fan but he's starting to win me over. I've noticed he seems to be improving in the air, so maybe this is something Warnock has had him work on.

It will be interesting to see what happens when Hall is available again. Could possibly try Djiksteel at RWB but I'd be wary of moving him out of the defence now.

I wouldn't change a thing. Everybody in defence looks like they are meant to be there. Dael Fry looks like a brand new signing. He's solid and dependable - what a change!!

Liverpool will be sniffing around

I've missed the last couple but watched last night. Definitely look more like a "team" now. Good levels of organisation and great work rate. Think the back three look solid but, crucially, good with the ball as well. Midfield covers acres of the pitch consistently - Morsy looks a fantastic acquisition and Saville is showing why we signed him.

Still think there are issues with creativity but I think when playing with two strikers again the midfield will chip in with more goals (as the forwards movements will result in more space for breaking midfielders). I'd like to see 3-4-1-2 with Roberts in the hole for games we expect to see more of the ball as well. If we address the wing back issues in Jan I think we could be in with a playoff shout.

Full credit to Warnock - I expected mid-table/bottom half at the start of the season but my current view is that the manager (and players) are capable of more.

Cue a 12 game run of defeats :ROFLMAO:

Djksteel, morsey and mcnair

howson looking best he has as well

Warnock just knows how to get the job done.

I don’t want to get carried away, it’s not like me, but I wonder who we’ll play in the playoffs

If we can keep our **** together defensively until January we defo have a chance. We NEED to bring in reinforcements in January mind it's all to play for at the end of the season. But it's a brutal run of games. We'd need to bring in four or five prem quality performers ready to step up at the drop of a hat.

Defensively sound, and solid in midfield. These are of course good plus points.

However the same problem persists that we have had for absolutely ages - we do not score goals, and 2 of our 3 strikers are out injured. This season in the league:
0
0
1
1
2
1

So, that is 5 goals in 6. Admittedly not as bad as some others.

If we’re not scoring goals being 2 strikers down may help bring out the best in the rest of the team . Just like last night midfielders need to step up and show their can win ya games .
