Higgy - “I regret not punching Aitor”.

Surprised the Wolfman’s podcast gets so little coverage on here! Some big stories so far.....

Higgy vehemently denies punching him but Aitor told Bausor he did. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Aitor also kept asking Leo to have a go at Slaven over opinions he’d shared online.

As much as I loved that period under him, it does sound more and more like Aitor was a pretty difficult bloke to get on with. Not that he should be defined by that in any way.

Aitor was a bit of a perfectionist and liked to keep a tight control - not easy to work with, but in his defence he was thorough and worked hard. The last Blackburn equaliser in 2014/15 was tough to take I was not in a mood to laugh and joke at the final whistle.

Higgy is adamant he wasn’t doing that.

I wish Hignett would go and find a hole somewhere. Is he still bleating about this? Bloody ridiculous. The guy needs to move on.
TBF he was interviewed about his whole career as player and manager, and he was specifically asked about Aitor.

Regarding this sort of thing in general I'm not sure what I think about talking about stuff that happened behind closed doors. Everyone does things they probably regret not handling differently and the other party doesn't get to give their view(I've not heard it by the way so I don't know the tone/context in this case)

There are a lot of bitter ex players about.
I actually know a couple personally.
Although they were well off financially back in the day, they now lead pretty ordinary lives and are definately upset that they can’t have the lifestyle that current premiership players enjoy.
Its not flights and apartments in Dubai, Its a sunday pint down the club for them.
Higgy, a great Boro player who I really liked, is doing himself no favours by resurrecting stories that should be private.
Maybe Bernie.....you should take that advice too.
Again, by talking down former bosses shows disrespect.
These men were good enough to give ex players a job when others didn’t.

Neither Slaven or Higgy covered themselves in glory after they hung their boots up.
Karanka, ex Real Madrid player, confident of Mourino, manager of a promoted Boro, manager of Forest, and Brum he must have done something right.
Think about it Higgy !.
We don’t want our great memory of you soured by spiteful and heresay comments in cheap books like somebody else I could mention.

Karanka soured his reputation with a lot of Boro fans in the way he often handled himself.

That Blackburn goal was horrific. Definitely two fouls and we had battered them. The most surprising aspect was Rudy scored😂 (Boro Rudy would put it wide.... Or actually not been on the pitch).

Who's that fecking Blackburn keeper? Wasn't he number 2 or 3 and always had a worldie against us (update I googled its Simon Eastwood).

I wasn't bothered about Karanka’s aloof interviews or even his apparent Hardline disciplinary stance.
Or whether he was a nice fella.
I never met him so can’t comment on that side of him.
He might have been a laghaminute type for all I know :))
It was results on the pitch that I was concerned with, thats what I bought into with my ST money.
He turned the club round, we were hard to beat, and got promotion but it all went sour after that.
His tenure just ran its course.
Apparently he aimed for and insisted on perfection.
He was never going to get that at Boro.
