Talk Talk

So underrated. I remember back in 82 listening to songs like Today and Talk Talk. They just got better and better after that.

One of my favourite songs of all time. Probably too popular and commercial for die hard fans but it’s one of my most played songs on Spotify and I was 3? when it was released.

Loved Talk Talk, and with all the eighties revivals I was hoping they would reform, so I was absolutely gutted when Mark Hollis died.
Mark Hollis simply didn't enjoy the limelight. In fact he was devastated when Talk Talk's record company released a greatest hits album after the band had stopped working.

I went to see them on a Sunday night at Coatham Bowl and was completely mesmerised. I expected a contemporary pop band but they were much much darker and Mark Hollis stood still and demanding of attention. I've loved them ever since.

Fantastic band with a lot more going on at multiple levels and a shame they were credited for 'poppy sounding music' by many, the long list of bands who quote them as influences are a testament to their work.

I must have been away working then as I would not have l missed them for the world. Also I live in Redcar.
Love the band but don't get their last couple of albums. Prefer their earlier music..

Spirit of Eden is one of my favourite albums. I didn't get into its successor Laughing Stock, but maybe I should go back and listen again.

My favourite band ever- Hollis the voice, how I love it. Gone too soon, RIP Mark.

I've attached the Coatham version of Tomorrow Started, one of my favourite tracks of theirs. I missed this gig as I was engulfed in revision for my finals at Uni. Still gutted, after all this time.

However, this isn't the best version I've heard of this track. In 1983 I recorded a session off Radio 1 and then lost the tape in a house move (Showing my age,,,,,,,,,,,,,) I've never heard that version since, and I still search.......

They were just so good, so so good.
