Well There We Have It, The Easy 'Oven Ready Deal' that Never Was...

Maybe it will end in a fairer society with more evenly distributed wealth
Yeah, that's why the Tories have done it, to fulfil their long cherished dream of a more equitable society. The reason that we are careering down this path is that there is a lot of money betting on our economy tanking. Johnson is just the buffoon allowed to pretend to be in charge when "Project Fear" turns into "Project Horrid Reality"

Pathetic 15/20 years shizzle from Cooper (he's on my ignore list, so I had to use the "show ignored content" to see who Adi was arguing with). No one plans economics 15 years in advance. So much can change in the passage of a parliament it is just deliberate obfuscation to claim a 15 year plan. I believe we will have rejoined inside 10 years. We will be crawling back with our arsses hanging out of our britches. There will be no UK to do it though. England and (perhaps) Wales. NI will be part of a united Ireland and Scotland will be an independent nation member of the EU.

As you say no one can plan economics 15 years in advance. So you have answered your own question. You cant claim what it will be like in 15 years. Neither can I and if you note I never proclaimed there was a 15 year plan, thats my own time frame set by myself. You need to read what i wrote more closely. You also dont need to say you have someone on block its literally the worst “look at me look at me” part of this board. If you block someone you dont need to tell everyone else each time they post.

Anyways you wont see this anyway. Bit sad i feel people block those with a different view. Shows how one sided you are

Such undiluted nonsense.

We won't have re-joined within 10 years, we'll be laughed out of town if we try even in the next 20+ years. It's not impossible in the long term but remember it took 3 goes to join in the first place and that any of the 27 members can veto a new member joining.

I don't know why you are getting involved - you don't even live in the UK

British citizens living abroad could register as an overseas voter, they had to have been registered in a UK constituency less than 15 years ago.

Whereas citizens of EU countries living in the UK, and directly affected by the outcome, did not get to vote.

Typical. The majority of my pension comes from the US, so we'll be fine. It's the younger ones I feel sorry for.
The younger ones have plenty of time to take care of their own pension. If you rely on the state you will be a poor pensioner

Thankfully company pensions are now mandatory in law

I agree, very unlikely in the next decade. But they would take us back no problem at all. The big hitters like France and Germany are pragmatic and not as shallow and vindictive like our current government. The smaller countries would be keen purely from a self interest point of view if nothing else.

The reason it won't be within 10 years is politics in this country. Nowt to do with the EU. They'd have us back in a heartbeat.

But we haven’t even left yet (given we are still trading on common terms), should we not see where we are a few years down the line especially with the COVID effect on the economy putting it an even more volatile state. Maybe it will end in a fairer society with more evenly distributed wealth, the left may get a better chance of governing after the fall out from brexit upsetting the status quo.

The big point is that we really don’t know as yet.

If it ends up producing a fairer society it'll be because it's been such a disaster even Tory voters will turn against their government. Not exactly a compelling case for Brexit. Tear the country apart in the hope what comes next is better? Erm, no thanks.

The fact the Tories refuse to enshrine in UK law many of the basic standards we enjoy under the EU designed to protect its citizens, tells you all you need to know about how the current bunch of crooks see this panning out.

What do we all think about the ‘world beating’ track and trace that we now find out isn’t the silver bullet it was just a way of stealing £12 billion to hand to corrupt Tories. I have friends who openly admit now they’ve got it wrong with both the election and Brexit but to see daily evidence of the government acting like a tinpot dictatorship and people still defending it and the utter shambles of Brexit is saddening. I think some people voted for it for genuine reasons, I also think 🛎ends like Cooper voted for it to say down the pub that he’s different and not in the status quo as his rambling nonsense about 15-20 years time attests. If this government were in the Middle East or Africa we’d be clamouring to remove them.
