Yannick Bolasie loan deal

Sounds like it was Bolasie and his agent's fault from Warnock's interview.

Issues that the club weren't made aware of until 4pm.

Possibly Warnock having a little dig at Bausor too? Bolasie told his agent about the issue and his agent "was talking to Neil quite a lot". But Warnock knew nothing about it.

I think Bausor is just an intermediary between Gibson and whoever he has to deal with. He was probably waiting for a decision from Gibson and it came too late for whatever reason. It really is p!ss poor tho that between 3 men who are supposed to be professionals in their field when you have all day you end up getting snagged on one issue brought to light at the last minute.

He's been outed by Warnock. Things between Bolasie and Everton only disclosed at 1600.

I thought from the start it's more his end than the so called boros crap transfer business. We were trying to loan a guy on 70k a week on the cheap. It was always gonna be his end and how much he would give up.

The crazy thing now is why so much effort to get him? We need a CF not a none scoring winger.

could it be that we decided to ull out of Bolasie when we realised how long Fletcher would be out for? We need a CF now and there are some high quality CFs available but will cost a fortune in wages, so maybe it was Bolasie or a new CF in the end?

It’s quite clear that all other clubs are nasty to us and players and agents are nasty to us. Steve Gibson is the greatest chairman in football and is local so it’s better. No other person could own boro and put money in. Bausor is great at his job and it’s all other clubs faults all the time this happens to us. Every player we’ve went for was asking too much of us but not of other teams. We are local and proud and that matters more to me. Parklife.

It looks like Everton wanted Bolasie to take a bigger wage cut that he was willing to and it was a major reason for the move been stopped. In the end everybody has lost out. We failed to get the player, Everton will be paying his full wage and Bolasie isn't going to play for anyone. Maybe Everton and Bolasie gambled we would crack and pay more for his loan move in the last hour when desperate and when no time left to do anything else. What is clear is that we are now just an average Championship club with regards money. The days are gone of us been a big spending club in the Championship.

Or a club that overpays?

We definitely aint a low or 'average' payer. In terms of champo standards we are still well up in the average wage figures.

I think we are down to 16mil last year? It still had us in the top 10 and that's after 2 years of cost cutting. We were at 24mil😒.

I would imagine Akpom and Morsy etc have received a pretty decent pay hike from former clubs. It's clearly frustrating missing out on targets but I'm glad we don't over pay. We have players at the club on 30k+ a week.

I guess the footballing landscape is changing. Its scary when Warnock says we've got no where near some players demands. He implied that Bristol City blew us out of the water with terms for Joe Williams (says we couldn't get anywhere near what they offered him)

That said It still beggers the question as to why we spent two days trying to bring in a guy on 70k a week. It's instantly an 'issue'. Also we clearly need a forward and not a none scoring winger. It seems odd that he was our main target.
