Supporters Forum

We were supposed to discuss an open letter to supporters from the EFL raising the points about how it should be far safer at grounds. Then Neil Warnock spoke for 90 minutes and so we decided to reconvene the meeting again at a later event. Soon. Yes, questions about fans at grounds was top of the agenda.

One of the concerns about allowing fans back into stadiums isnt just the 90+ minutes of the match.

It's the fans travelling to the town/match, the drinking in the pubs before and after.
With yesterday's tier announcements I suppose it needs some reflection about this can be tied in as well. For Middlesbrough fans would only be allowed in pubs in household groups and have to be seated. Would fans now be able to sit with people in the ground that are outside their household?

Can 3 people from 3 different households sit at the same table in a pub if they don't socialise with each other and remain 1m+ apart?

So you continue with existing pub restrictions? . No entry unless you have a table booked. Safe distancing etc. I am sure football fans would understand they would have to forgive something to watch a game?
I am pretty sure it isnt the pubs that worry the Government but public transport. If it is it makes no sense of the 10pm curfews.

I should have made clear that I don't necessarily agree with the points I put just that they are reasons put forward by various bodies for not allowing fans back into the ground.

Yes Im sure it will be a concern over volumes certainly and at least they have been consistent if flawed with their thinking with cricket and rugby matches too.

Hi All

Just to follow up on what Rob mentioned, the plan was for NW to be with us for 30-40 mins and he stayed with us for 90 mins.

We made the decision to reschedule the meeting to give us more time to discuss the points on the agenda. The open letter from the EFL was an agenda point, and as a late addition Project Big Picture.

I will set the rescheduled meeting up soon

In regards to the Q&A with Neil, I have lots of notes from the transcript and I will look to type them up into some sort of format this week and share the best bits. It may take me a while as there are lots.

As Rob also mentions there was 1 or 2 things Neil spoke to us about that he preferred not to be made public as such, so we will of course respect wishes and leave those bits out.

One thing that Neil did say was that he was really keen to do more fan meetings and it’s something that he really enjoys doing, that point came across loud and clear.

I will let you know when I have something to share.

Mark it once again seems a bit odd that information is shared with chosen fan reps but not with the fans more widely - without disclosing the confidential information can you explain this please?

They can be recorded but only by the organiser or set up by them for others to record.
And so the question therefore is what in the meetings should not be public knowledge given they are a method of communication between fans and the club?

Im going to share the information with fans once I have typed it up? There is about 2 mins of the whole 90 mins which is not in relation to MFC that won’t be shared.

Neil plans to do more of these with different supporters when he gets the opportunity to do so.

Mark my post was in relation to Rob's comments about information not being for sharing widely. Surely anything discussed in the meetings should be minuted and everything in the meeting should be relayed to fans - why would there be anything in an MFC Supporters' Forum that wouldn't be in relation to MFC?

Why not record the meetings - then fans could see exactly what's going on?

Sorry, I thought you meant in relation to Neil’s Q&A, my mistake.

Yes all meetings have minutes and are shared online via the MSF website, via social media and the club website for all to see.

The Q and A with Neil Warnock went on so long it meant the rest of the meeting was postponed - hence no minutes from a forum meeting last night.

To be honest it relates to comments by yourself and Rob now - anything happening during an MSF meeting should be accessible to all fans - there shouldn't be anything in an MSF meeting that is "secret".

Oh great so we're getting nothing at all from this meeting in the way of minutes now?
