I'm sure Brighton and Burnley fans asked, who would pay a tenner to watch Middlesbrough vs BarnsleyHA! Who's paying £15 to watch Brighton v Burnley?
HA! Who's paying £15 to watch Brighton v Burnley?
Their appetite to maximise revenue is exactly the same. They will charge £15 because enough people will pay it. People pay £25 to watch ex-boxers fight people who do other sports.Strange comparison. You are viewing football as a commodity. The argument is that without that money EFL clubs fail. Not the same for the EFL where gate money is a tiny proportion of their overall income.
There is a major backlash against it on social media from Prem fans. Fair play to Leicester who were the only Club to vote against it.Their appetite to maximise revenue is exactly the same. No I get that but it’s leaving a nasty taste in their “customers” mouths. As I said above unlike EFL Clubs the Premier League teams receive an inordinate amount of income and this is another squeeze of the fan base.Their appetite to maximise revenue is exactly the same. Backlash is all well and good but the proof will be in the numbers. There is a major backlash against it on social media from Prem fans. Fair play to Leicester who were the only Club to vote against it.
Everything is a squeeze of the fan base. The objective is to extract as much revenue as possible from other people in order to make their team perform better. Nobody has to pay to watch these games, if they do it is 100% out of choice and they are categorically endorsing the prices. These matches weren’t even available to watch previously. No I get that but it’s leaving a nasty taste in their “customers” mouths.
