I simply couldn't care less. I put it on for 2 mins paying for fuel or 20 mins in a supermarket. It's really not an issue.
You see folk removing them to pack bags at a checkout or talk on the phone. You can talk through them

I wouldnt fancy sitting on a train or airplane for 4-6 hours with one on. That said I've not not been on either and don't intend too.
Does it help? I really don't know and I'm pretty sceptical. I went to tesco for 3 months during lockdown without one then started wearing one when the death rate dropped off.
The fact is unless you have a genuine disability that effects breathing etc then just wear one. It's really not any hassle or the government just 'seeing us off'.
