Middlesbrough v Bournemouth Allowed 1000 fans

Nice for people to get free parking outside the stadium.

If anyone lives in County Durham, Tyne and Wear, Northumberland it looks like they will not be able to go to the game as those areas go into lockdown tomorrow.

Will Boro still send tickets out to these superspreaders ;)

I'm a ST holder and got one but I'm not Gold card so a few of the pessimists wrong on that one. All those logged on at or before 8pm were allocated a random position in the queue as the site opened. My position was 442 and was allowed on to the site at 8.12pm. At that point there appeared to be very few seats left. It did seem to be well organised <gasp> but I would say that wouldn't I, as I got one. Probably regret it well before half time unless we are transformed and Bournemouth have a major off-day.

Refreshments are available I read - only the West stand is open so there might be some queues. The toilets are open but fans will have designated toilets to attend. Keeping to 2 metres gap might be difficult. I guess it will be no different than going to a pub.

why? They really should do the responsible thing. Anyone living in those areas where a lockdown occurred would be a selfish tw*t

I really think you need to look at the proposed guidelines before you go around calling people tw*ts, I thought you were better than that.
If the rules tell me not to travel and not to attend events then I won’t, just as I didn’t the first time around, but until that happens I will continue to go about my life with as much normality as possible in order to maintain some level of sanity.
I’m sorry if that upsets you in some way, but in the grand scheme of things I’m looking after number one, in my eyes I’m more important than you and if that makes me selfish then so be it. I am not the guy that nudges you out of the way to get to the butter in Tesco’s, neither am I the doyle having his mates round for a bbq, ffs I didn’t even go out to a restaurant or pub during the eat out thing, so don’t talk to me out being selfish. The rules have been relaxed and if they allow me to go to a football match then I’m going to take advantage of it and F U if you don’t like.

Really ffs, priorities 🙈
As stated above, I’m trying to get back to normal, I’ve been to pubs and restaurants many times since lockdown was lifted. My job involves me visiting between 7 and 9 different peoples houses daily.
What are you going to do to resume normality??
Or are you going to become a hermit for the rest of your days ??

Johnny, if there was a lockdown, you state that the Boro could potentially refuse to send out the tickets to people in the lockdown postcode areas but hope they don’t. You appear to state that you hope Boro would still issue tickets to people in an area of lockdown. People in those areas would be potential spreaders to an area not in lockdown. You state you are responsible in your actions. The trouble is you would not know if you had the virus or not. Sorry if you took offence, but in my eyes putting your desires before the best interests of fellow human beings is selfish. You even state you are more important, yes that is selfish. I get we are all selfish to a degree, but to risk others for a game of footy you can watch anyway. It is clear to all that social interaction and travel help keep the pandemic alive and kicking and inadvertently affecting the lives of us all. The sooner everyone keeps to the rules the better. I prefer to put the health and safety of myself and others before a game of footy. If my thoughts offend you, so be it. I hope you did not criticise Dominic Cummings in that case btw.

I am going to strictly follow the rules, social distance as best I can for the safety of those I love. I have not set foot in a pub or restaurant. I only set foot in foodshops when necessary and wear a mask at all times. I keep my distance from people as far as possible. I take this virus responsibly as it is a killer and I would not forgive myself for passing it on to family or friends. You only get one shot at life and sometimes you need to be selfless. This is one of those times, the trouble is some fellow humans are happy to take risks out of self interest which inadvertently may kill others, so yes, for the time being I will do all i can to protect my loved ones and those I do not know even though it means I have to miss out on pleasures. I will do so until a vaccine is administered or the virus kills me.

@coluka

Thats very clever of you, start your argument with a conjunction, especially when you consider that the government are not going to implement a lockdown, they are adding additional restrictions.

'If' there was a lockdown then I would abide by the rules of said lockdown, just as I have in the past. I would also like to think that the club could play a part in helping with this by removing any temptation and not send tickets to those in the areas of lockdown, so to that extent I have to agree.

Now back to facts, this is not a lockdown, it is a change to the restrictions. I would like you to point out which of the restrictions that you are speculating that will be put in place, that either myself, or the club will be breaching by attending the game on Saturday.........

.......In the meantime I would appreciate it if you got down off your self righteous soapbox and preached to somebody else!

Ok restrictions, my bad. The fact is if restrictions are in place in certain areas that means the risk of transmission is higher in that area and those that live within it are more likely to pick up a virus and/or transmit it if they travel. It really is easy to grasp. I think you know that I have not said Boro would be breaking any rules, nor you. That does not mean that the risks to others as well as yourself through interactions isn’t raised, it is, I consider it a selfish approach, sorry. People can be asymptomatic as we all know. The more those that feel they are less at risk and carry on as normal, the more the vulnerable are put at risk. As for your self righteous comment, think what you like, I would sooner be seen as that mind than risk others safety as well as my own. I will leave it there, I will keep doing the right thing for me and others, even though I may miss out till a vaccine.

Not for me, Just a random question. It seems that is assumed that we all have a PC.

There has been an assumption that the majority of ppl have access to an internet ready device, which isnt unreasonable this day and age. If you dont have a hat, how can you throw it into the ring?
