it isnt thoughYes it is. It is a term used to insult a particular group of people based partly on their skin colour and ethnic background.
But then there are some who think "white" people can never be victims of racism. Probably the ones who are happy to use such a term.
Or people can be kind to each other instead of hating, or disliking someone because of their beliefs, that's not aimed at you Ticker just in generalId like to see the gammon people speak out against racism, speak out against injustice to others. The silence is deafening from them.
Start being kind to other humans
It’s not racist and it’s not particularly offensive tbh, it’s just one of the numerous names the left throw at people to dismiss someone they don’t agree with because they aren’t capable of rational debate. Why bother with having a proper conversation about something when it’s easier to call someone a gammon, then do the equivalent of putting your fingers in your ears and stomping off.
I agree with this entirely - however, on social media (and indeed on here) I see the terms 'melt', 'snowflake' and 'remoaner' etc far more frequently than the term 'gammon' so I would hope you'd have the same opinion with the posters who use those terms.
nope. It's a generalisation about a group of people that lose their rag over leftist politics, empathy, and equality. I'm not even sure you need western european genetics to be gammon.it is! It's Racist!
I've never heard that interpretation before - what the world always needed was a specific term for the aboveits a term used to describe someone who has an attitude or belief that when questioned turns a gammony colour... it mentions no original colour of skin... they could be pale skinned, dark skinned or other... its more to do with their demeanour when challenged..
you could argue that many non-whites with the same churlish attitudes towards liberals could also be 'gammon', there is no rule that says if you are of Greek or Indian descent that you can't also be 'Gammon' if you drink too much, scream about all lives matter and lets sink immigrant boats and use terms like f.... libtards. It is a temporary state, when the capillaries carrying blood to the skin widen and the skin appears to change colour. But the skin doesn’t really change colour and its effect doesn't confer race upon you.
It is like shining a red torch through a white handkerchief. The hanky appears red but it isn't and you find when you turn the torch off that it was white all along.
All you are seeing is a reaction to an emotional trigger like embarrassment or losing your rag on Question Time.
I think the bottom line is 'Gammon' is a retort to people that are angry towards people with liberal views. If they happen to be largely middle aged and white that's just a reflection of the fear engendered in that demographic about how liberal values will harm them (which is largely a lie).
