Chrisopher Nolan - TENET

Looking forward to it and I’ll likely enjoy it but some reviews I’ve seen seem to lean toward it not being as good as some previous outings, but not seen a film of his that I’ve not enjoyed so we’ll see 👍🏻

Going to see it on Thursday. My first visit to cinema since they reopened.

Daughter went Saturday to see a Star Wars showing at Darlo VUE

9 people present - they met another 6 that were going to see one of the LoTR films.

Place was pretty much deserted...I really hope it starts to pick up - safely of course.

Seen this trailer a few weeks back and I don't think it looks great.

It still won't stop me going to see it because Nolan is a great filmmaker.

I seen the new Batman trailer this weekend too....what an absolute joke that looks like. Robert f**king Pattinson as Batman...setting itself up to fail before it's even released!

Surprised at this as I thought it looked great. A lot of people said similar things about Phoenix as Joker, and I doubt many people were expecting heath ledger to be as outstanding as he was. Seen a lot of positive buzz about this, taking a darker route than most batman films have, not cutting to 10 different camera views for the fight scenes, just what the franchise needed imo rather than another carbon copy clone.

I love Nolans other films and was really looking forward to TENET, until I read the reviews that is...

I thought that but it has 70/100 on Metacritic and if you look at nolans other films they have generally scored around there about as they aren't for everyone. Prestige 66, Batman Begins 70, Inception 74...if thats the sort of film it is in critics eyes then I'm happy with it. It's the user score average I tend to put more weight in, as those films have all scored higher up than that.

I didn't agree with the criticism of Phoenix as Joker before the movie. Plus after the movie, it's safe to say he was excellent as Joker.

But Pattinson as Batman doesn't look great IMO. I'll obviously watch it because I love DC Comics, but I think this maybe a bad move.

Just been to see teneT.
Enjoyed it, score was massive. However, on leaving I wanted to go straight back in to watch it again to fully understand it.
Definitely a 2 watch film.

I have been to see Tenet tonight and in all honesty it is hype over some substance. The lead actor is fantastic, the plot Is intriguing and visually looks stunning but for A Nolan film is a big let Down.
It is disjointed and confusing in parts. Maybe the idea would have been better in a mini series as it seems rushed in places and in other parts need more explanation as to what is happening. I really wanted to like it and Might watch it a second time as bigbob suggests.

Saw it last night, huge Nolan fan, think hes a genius tbh, however, the sound mix was attrocious, dialogue/exposition was drowned out by the incredibly loud soundtrack/sound effects. Made the film nigh on impossible for me to follow.

Deserves a second viewing, but that will be at home with the subtitles on.
