Jordan Hugill

I doubt that Jones playing would have made much difference to the outcome last night.

But for Jones it was massive I dare say. A lad from non-league not so long ago being robbed of the chance to play Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in a league cup semi final just because a talentless footballer could show he was 'putting it about a bit' has robbed him of that experience. It'd be easier to take if it was an accident but the ball had long gone. It was completely unnecessary from Hugill.

Nothing against Hugill, we seen what he was like when we had him on loan and glad we didnt get him back.

Jones seems an up and down sort of player, it didnt seem like something that would lead to him coming off, he must have seen Bangura ar$e fall out after slight push in the back. Just my opinion you understand but I think we have a few who look for an easy way out when it suits them.

We really need to buy and trade to get a decent back 4 and have them play together consistently, it builds confidence in the side.

It was an accident, the push was unnecessary but he never meant to hurt Jones.

Accidents not the right word is it? If a players intention is to go as close as they can to the line between fouls and tackles, and to try and unsettle their opponents by leaving a foot in or giving them a push or whatever, they do so knowing that injuring them is a possibility dont they?

I think we will have a steady back four of Engel, Fry, VDB and Ayling until the end of the season (injuries permitting). Bangura may replace Engel and I also think there will be a bit of a shake up in midfield with O'Brien slowly getting his fitness back.

I don’t think he meant to hurt Jones, he was trying to rile us up which was an obvious tactic utilised by Rotherham. He was doing his job and the referee should have done his.

I am sure Rotherham could point toward Greenwood's elbow to Clucas's ribs. In that situation, the players went to hurt someone, a push in the back is different and no intention of hurting the player. Both incidents should have been dealt with by the referee.

Hate players like Hugill. Hate watching them and at the pathetically low level I've played at, hate playing against them.

They tend to be bulky and strong but with limited ability. The constant niggling is cheating and an attempt to spoil the game. It's horrible to play against and horrible to watch. And it does increase the chance of injuring your opponent a bit, however "unintentional" that outcome may be.

So you do have to be a bit of a nob to play that way.

You can be a handful as a target man, be physical, be hard to play against, but not resort to sly pushes, elbows etc. But that requires a modicum of ability.

Id replace them all barring VDB during the summer, get what we can for Engel.
McNair will be gone
Fry needs fresher fields, I like Dael though.
Get what we can for if we can for Clarke
Get Lenihan up to speed and flog him too
Dijiksteel. Either banned or injured and no use to us
Bangura. not impressed at all.
Smith only used a sub.

We need to do this work early so perhaps sign a couple with a view to who they are replacing this window.

the dust has settled a bit.. reality sets in. local lad playing a competitive game against his home team.. remember Cattermole on Digard.. properly did a number on him

the dream is over.. but maybe it was a dream too far. Jordan Hugil is doing the best he can with what he's ben given. its easy to point the finger.. but if any of us had made it as professional footballers.. can you honestly say you wouldn't have done the same? hey, being honest about it.. growing up in the bubble of a millionaire football lifestyle.. can you honestly say that you would not end up being a little bit more of a knob? i'm a knob now.. if I had been a footballer I would have been an absolute knob.

still a boro lad at the end of the day... the daft tvvat

I was more peed off before the match that we lost Jones, because I knew it would seriously hurt our chances. After the game I wasn’t bothered by it, because they were so much better than us in every way that having Jones wouldn’t have made the slightest bit of difference to the end result.

There's been some world class players who had that part of the game in their locker.

Occupational hazard, this is part and parcel of football. The question I ask myself is if Hugill hadn’t pushed Jones would his Hamstring going to go anyway? It was very soft and it could have happened regardless.

Not sure it’s childish. He’s certainly not welcome at the riverside in a watching capacity. He would get pellets and rightly so
It will be forgotten about in a few weeks, I’m sure once he’s retired if he wants to come he will be welcome at the Riverside.

Not so sure.

Cattermole is talked about in a bad way too, due to the Digard challenge, even though he did well for us at the start of his career.
