Greenwood’s miss

Was that at the Holgate End around Easter whatever year it was?
Even so I'm sure Paul Wilkinson missed a few sitters which match anything I've seen today.

I can’t remember the exact date - i just remember everyone looking on in disbelief and lots of WTF ing filling the air. It was actually harder to miss than score that one, so quite some skill really 😁
 
I remember that Currie miss. I was sitting in the old North Stand on a direct line to the six yard box as he spooned it over. Poor lad, he never lived it down.

He tried to smash it in the net

It was past the keeper and any touch at all would have been a goal.
 
It was in front of me ( well over my head in the end) I think he shanked it, so if it was played along the ground it must’ve bobbled. Either that or he’s a spud.
 
I actually thought it was Silvera initially, because I'd remembered him missing some sitters earlier in the season and I shouted "Silvera you useless tw@t" 🤣

Had a horrible feeling it was going to come back to haunt us but luckily I was proven wrong.
 
The most recent 'as bad' was Fletcher. I think it was away at Huddersfield? I seem to recall blue seats 😂

Today was a bad miss. Yet it may have bobbled. Just seamed to try and smash it. I imagine one where his eyes just lit up thinking 'goal' no matter how he struck it.
