Feedback on new site thread

@fmttmadmin

Any chance of the Ignore thread feature being activated on the site?
It's on other sites using this software, and it would save me scrolling past a lot of threads I have no interest in reading (i.e. political rants and NFL) when browsing the forum.

You need to do something about that eBay ad - it's for Chinese school girls in underwear dolls. Do you really want that on this forum?

I knew someone would post that 😁 hardly likely to advertise that if I had been looking at something seedy

He is largely correct though. All the ads I am seeing at the moment are for bathroom items, project management training courses and pet supplements. We are renovating our bathroom, I'm in the middle of a business analysis diploma and we have an ill cat. Sometimes the ads are completely unrelated but largely adwords will look at tracking cookies and match something up.

What project management stuff were they advertising? When I was looking for work in government departments in the early 2000s I got certified as a Prince Practitioner. Even though I had worked as a project and programme manager for many years before that. It was just another box to tick on my CV.

What I can say is they are not directing good adverts at me at the moment. I have been happily married for over 25 years now. However I am seeing quite a few adverts for fun with young Spanish ladies. I can say 100% honestly I have not been anywhere near such sites.Amigos.jpg

Strangely, I'm seeing ads for engagement rings and I'll have been married for 40 years later this year.
I have, though, opted out of all targeted advertising wherever possible.

prince2 is one big tick box imo, I did that in 2012 and despite many jobs asking for it in their spec I’ve never really used it. Good for nhs etc I suppose but most places are heading into agile now if they aren’t already

It was a load of box ticking bollox. Got me a job at the Foreign and Commonweath Office in 2002. For a couple of years. Before coming out here.

The fun in project and programme management is influencing people. Without having direct management control over them. It is an art, not a science. However whatever industry you are in it has to be underpinned by box ticking process. To make sure you do not miss anything.

I can't help but laugh when I see people put ITIL credentials on their signatures. The very antithesis of agile. The instructor that did the course I had to do a dozen or so years ago more or less gave the test answers before the test.

I'm seeing ads for a Biomass Power Station, something I've never, ever searched for or looked at before so I don't think these are targeted ads.

Can we have a 'groan' button as well as alike button.
Some boards also have a summary with the Avatar / post - ie liked 37 times groaned at 7 times
