McGree seems to have been out for ages now

He’s still our top scorer this season surprisingly. Hopefully he’s at least ready for the bench after the international break but it could be longer. It’s one of those issues you can’t predict very accurately.

Pretty sure Carrick said after the break was unlikely (and for Lenihan, Forss). With the Asia Cup (which he might miss anyway now) we might not see him until Feb.

It's a big leap from probably not ready in two weeks, to not ready for 3 months.

So what is the injury then - i just remember him limping off the game before the Sunderland match, i just thought he’d took a whack and came off as a precaution as it was nearly the end of the game anyway

Plantar Fasciitis, as runner I got it myself but luckily it only really bothered me for a couple of weeks but know other runners who were out for months with it so who knows but you would imagine he will be getting much better treatment that me and my runner mates

This is a tricky injury as it's still not really understood the real causes and the route to cure and prevention. Maybe good shoes are the obvious answer to many novices but some of the reasons or root causes for this particular injury are foot plant and possibly ball kicking which involves a lot of body mechanics. So while McGree has maybe gotten over his injury somewhat it might be that his body mechanics [muscle memory +] are causing the injury.

It's hard to think of Riley being sidelined with PF, I had it for the entirety of walking the Chemin Arles from Montpellier to Santiago De Compostela over 65 Days.
Yes it's painful.
No it doesn't go away
Imo flatter surfaces are worse for it than uneven surfaces
But I feel you can still be active with it if you are prepared to live with the pain, I don't use pain killers or creams.
I did do stretching during the walk and also after the walk which had been recommended by my Dr, which while not clearing it may have set up the conditions for a random excercise I picked up from a Camino de Santiago forum to have an almost magical effect, it cleared the PF the 1st time I used it and could feel something popping ( in a good way) and releasing..
The other things to consider is how he picked it up , usually it's tight Achilles that can lead to it . In my case it was a new pair of bad fitting boots which I was going to do my training on for the walk. So there may be something which he is using and not connecting to his condition ( PF) which may be stopping it from clearing up.

There is big difference between going for a walk (even a long one) and a top-level sports man needing to perform at 100%. He needs to get it cleared however long it takes.
