defo remember fadgies growing up in the 80's and 90s.. went to uni and thought everyone know about fadgies.. hilarious apparentlyyep, fadgies sold in some local bakers in Middlesbrough at least up to the late 60s/early 70s, and cooked by various Irish grannies. Presumably the secret was passed on domestically, but the local bakers disappeared.
If the guy who lived in Monkland Street is around, he may remember them from the bakers on the corner.
Can you still buy them?
My nana who was an Irish immigrant, used to bake them all the time when we would go and visit her when she lived on Lee Road, Grangetown.defo remember fadgies growing up in the 80's and 90s.. went to uni and thought everyone know about fadgies.. hilarious apparently
