Fmttm admin continue to ignore fan concerns ahead of forums

You may mock my comment on safe guarding, but I know that it's a reason why some other clubs don't allow 'unaccompanied adults' into family areas.

Perhaps making people buy in person at the Boro ticket office is a way to weed out oddballs (for want of a better word)? 👍
OK that is a fair comment. Like i say no other Championship clubs do this but lets give the club the benefit of the doubt that they are going above and beyond other clubs (despite the high levels of anti social behaviour going on in thar area).

If that is the case why wouldn't they make this clear this is the way to purchase these tickets? Instead of just shading them out as unavailable.

I thought you could not buy GRFZ online to ensure that it family tickets are bought.
Maybe that's the case but why not make that clear instead of making them appear unavailable? It feels like they would rather people not use advantage of this offer.

A bit like how the government make it very difficult for people to find out what benefits they are entitled to. It feels very tory.

Make sure they actually go to families or concessions and guardians

How can anyone look at these figures and defend the club? So for the walk up supporter who buys online for a family of 4 we are the most expensive in the league. If you add on the booking fees as a family of 4 that then becomes £108. Steve Gibson hang your head in shame. We have THOUSANDS of empty seats every game and have done for years and yet the same people jump on threads defending Gibson and the club despite the fact a different approach to ticket prices has never been tested.

Meanwhile Sunderland up the road are getting 41k crowds. I've posted this before but I priced up Season Cards for myself and my 2 kids SW corner and the price was double what Sunderland were charging in the same area of the ground. Thousands of young kids are getting the bug at Sunderland and this ensures they maintain an excellent fan base at all times. They give tickets away to local school kids, staff at local hospitals etc. Could we not do this? Surely it's better than having thousands of empty seats every week.

Anyway rant over, I'm off to order some pantomime tickets for me, the Mrs and the 2 kids! 🤣

The GRFZ is like a secret society. The prices are listed on the price list but it's not shown on the stadium plan. There's no instructions on how to buy them.

Even people who know where the GRFZ is located are caught out because it is then shown as unavailable on the site map and makes it look sold out.

Hearsay on this board is that they are walk up only. Yet it doesn't say that anywhere. Even Rob who is our supporters representative seems unsure. Its a joke!

Its a very Tory way of running things.

We will give them this benefit. But we won't tell them how they can claim such benefit. In fact unless they know they are entitled to it we won't even tell them they are entitled to it.

Maybe it is different people that want to see Take That. I'm fairly certain it's not people that have been looking for GRFZ and couldn't fins them so have bought Take That tickets.

I suspect Take That have a few more fans than Middlesbrough do.

So what if they have more fans, they are charging 126 BAR plus about 15 BAR Booking fees. They don't give discounts for children AT ALL. Nobody's sending complaints through about the pricing...
WAKE UP ALL OF YOU 👍

For myself and the Mrs to take our 2 kids to the Boro it costs us somewhere between £100 to £110. That's east stand as we hate sitting behind the goals.

We always try on release day to buy GRFZ tickets and they are always 100% unavailable every single time on the morning of online sales and beyond. We have stopped trying and have also stopped paying £100+ as walkups and we can afford it.

If they are actually available and they aren't making this clear then they really are losing out on custom.

Personally, I think GRFZ prices should be available all around the ground. So few kids (and we know so many as we both work in education) have ST's compared to when I was growing up. I think long term it's a bad idea.

Totally agree. My 10 year old told me the other day that out of the lads in his class there's only 2 Boro fans and he's one of them. When I was his age at the same school I would say 95% of the lads in the class were Boro supporters and a lot of them went to matches and were ST holders. It's sad to see other clubs actively trying to get kids on board and we seem to be trying to go the other way if our walk up prices are anything to go by.

Another question for the next forum if possible - how does the club justify a booking fee for tickets purchased online? On Saturday morning I bought two tickets for the Bromley v Gateshead game through Ticketmaster and was surprised that there was no extra fees attached when it came to payment. I paid the flat price. If Bromley can do that then surely all clubs can.

How do they justify these extra charges?

Just revenue that they think people expect as a norm, its a global con.

That's the case in point though, Boro haven't lost any fans, in fact they've increased ST holders by protecting the differential between ST and walk up prices....
Offering cheaper tickets to 'walk ups' who show no upfront commitment just erodes the value of the ST and holders drift away over time. Ultimately when things aren't going so well you are playing to an empty stadium....
Blackburn offered plenty of ticket offers over the last few years and now have less than 10'000 ST holders.
That model works well for Boro and it's the right approach IMO, it's been done to death on here....
Make no mistake, the reason season tickets have increased is because of last seasons success, the likelihood of our promotion at the time and the Michael Carrick effect. It's foolish to think there's any other reason.
