Imola just been added to the calendar!! Excellent!

along with Portimao and the lesser Nurburgring.

Good tracks to bring back. Now all we need is Sepang to come back.

Plans to race in the Americas scrapped.

What about those dates though?

Apparently it can snow in October in the Nurburg region!

Imola is a 2 day event so not sure what the format is going to be.

Having been there in the spring, it can snow at anytime in the Eifel mountains. Very changeable. When we did a nordschleife tour years ago one of the lads skidding on ice at the top of the track during an early morning run, yet also suffered overheating on a boiling afternoon.

You're right though, a grand prix in Nurburg, in October? It'll be interesting and impossible to predict weather wise.

Never noticed the Imola thing. Hmm. Condensed Qualy? Maybe, as the WEC has a prologue at Paul Ricard, this will be a formula 1 epilogue?

Interesting! - I wonder if we'll get a third race in the UK? .... wouldn't suprise me to see a donnington or Brands hatch if they can't get to the Americas or Asia

I might be wrong but didnt Donnington need huge upgrades if they were able to host a F1 race if Silverstone didnt continue? Assume thats why they were just having 2 at Silverstone this year

Really hope they keep Portimao for a few seasons, would be a great place to visit for a GP weekend

One of my petrol head mates is really excited by Portimao. I must admit I don't know anything about the track. It looks like a baby spa though. This is a very good thing!

According to Sky the Portimao race may be the first one this season where a limited number of spectators are allowed in.

Hopefully they get rid of practice all together for that 2 day weekend. Would make the race a bit more unpredictable if the teams had no practice session on a new circuit

There is no way that’s going to happen.

Isn't that a bit like saying football teams cant have training sessions. That would probably help us as our set piece record is fairly bad (both defending and attacking)

No, because as Randy says they all have simulators down to the nth degree anyway. Take Friday practice off them and at least there's a chance they might have programmed the sim wrong and don't have chance to get it right in the hour they get on Saturday morning.

I understand that people want more mixed up races, but the problem is that practice sessions have effectively become what were once testing. I think that you either have testing back or you aĺlow in season testing (expensive) otherwise the development of the cars will be reduced.

I guess a lot of people would think that would be good, but I am a bit of a nerd and enjoy seeing how cars develop throughout season. Yes this benefits richer teams more but I think revenue sharing is a different more important issue than practice sessions.
