camping on the stray redcar

im coming across to redcar for blam blam fever at the weekend .we are booked at a camp site but its other side of marske and im a bit concerned about getting back there late at night early morning .
whats the score with pitching a tent on the expanse of grassland anyone know the crack ?

There are regularly a lot of camper vans down there but not sure what rights they have to be there overnight or to camp down there. I must admit I wouldn't like to think I was leaving my tent or belongings in a tent at the Gare.

Edit: Sorry, I've misread that and thought you meant the Gare and not the Stray. I think you might get moved on.

We went to the festival at the Rugby Club a few weeks back and got a taxi back to Middlesbrough ok. Used the Boro Taxis app if that helps.

I'm surprised there isn't a campsite for this event in Redcar - Can I also ask what campsite you are staying at?
New marske sports club which is the designated site .it mentioned a shuttle bus which has now changed to booking taxis which where I live is a weekly nightmare.

I find it strange that New Marske Sports Club is the designated campsite. I would definitely download the Boro Taxis App and book a taxi through that.

Alternatively, you could stay in a B&B in Redcar.

Yes I thought that but the mention of a shuttle bus swayed our decision .anyhow I'm sure we will have a great weekend all the same and
Thanks to all for the help

The hotels for this get booked up early for this. I don't think camping on the stray would be a good idea mind. A taxi to your camp site shouldn't be too much. Plenty of taxis in redcar.

I’ve seen loads of campers parked in the stray car parks over the years, though don’t live their anymore so can’t comment for recently.

Edit: just asked my mate who lives on the coast road and he said you used to be allowed but now theirs signs up saying no overnight camping.

There is transport (shuttle bus) available back to the campsite in Marske. Check the Blam Blam FB page
