They've pulled a Ziege again.Liverpool triggering a low buy out fee from Brighton for £35m
My thoughts exactlyThey've pulled a Ziege again.
Nothing seems to be secret in football, it's all agents talking and players tapping each other up, not good if clubs are being screwed out of cash (as they will probably screw the fans to claw some of it back). My thoughts exactly
It does seem a good deal.
I might be wrong about this but at one point wasn't he behind Payero in the pecking order, I seem to remember in the Olympic squad (I think?) he was benched whilst Payero got more minutes. He also had to go back to Argentina on loan for a spell due to not settling in England initially.
I'd still like Payero to be given a go under Carrick as it could pay dividends (could spectacularly fail too), but it'll depend on the willingness of both parties to give it a go.
Cheers, must be my dodgy memory!Mac Allister started all 3 games for Argentina at the Olympics.
Payero came off the bench to replace him in 2 of them.
it's taken him 3-4 years to be established as a regular and yeah like you say he went back to Argentina intiallyIt does seem a good deal.

Agree there probably wont be a better deal this windowFantastic player and that is a bargain in todays money.
The fee was being mooted as £60m last week which sounded fair enough. £35m is a bargain.Without the clause you'd think Brighton would have wanted at least double that.
