Full strength Vs Coventry

Injuries permitting, let’s get back to the strongest team we can select and beat Coventry to gather some momentum before the play offs.

Have agreed with everything Carrick has done for the last couple of games and I’m
Sure now he’s thinking about getting back to our strongest team. Thankfully we only have 1 more game now, this mini pre season before the play offs if you like is a hard one for us to navigate.

Yeah, and whilst I totally agree with what Carrick has done I think he’s done it too get all the lads minutes incase there needed but next week he will play his best team available

I think the first 2 words are the key. Howson won't be risked even if declared fit, maybe the same with Fry and Forss too.

It's a week away but I'm thinking it will be:

Steffen
Smith McNair Lenihan Giles
Hackney Mowatt
Jones Akpom McGree
Archer

I’d be delighted with that. Be good if Howson is ok too

I'd go full strength and go all out for the win.

Momentum does matter.

We've now only won 2 and lost 4 of our last 7 games, and it's going to shake player confidence regardless.

😮Just blatantly copy my choice of team and call it your own 😮😉😂

We're 10% off the pace at the moment and we can't beat Rotherham, if we're 10% of it in the playoff first leg we'll be out of the tie. I know we don't want to risk injuries but it’s going to be hard to just switch things on in 13 days time.
Spot on

I understand why some don't want to play a full strength team, buts it not a guarantee that we can just step straight into the winning habit again when the first team does step out. I would put the strongest 1st team out next Monday to see where we are as an unit and build up that passing and intensity which was our hallmark upto recently. We go into the 1st away game cold and we might end up with a 2 or more deficit to overturn.

We’re deliberately 10% (and more) off the pace, we don’t need “momentum” going into the playoffs………we need players!!
The team to start next week is the team that finished today.

It’s not. Why wouldn’t you start McGree and Archer? Keep Giles out of the squad again? Why?

It's damned if you do, damned if you don't really. We've been treading water in a "well, what does it matter?" way in the last couple of games, and I suspect it'll be the same again on Monday - concede, and no-ones busting a gut to get it back or get injured when there's a bigger game coming up.

Trouble is that Coventry will need something so it could be a repeat of today. Whatever, the team that we will play in two weeks time will have forced their way in on the last day of the season, probably with a win and will likely be buzzing at their achievement. Can we pick ourselves up from three weeks of flat displays and losses?
