I was wondering what had happened to this chancer as he hadn't been managing or on sky for a while. Came across an article where it said he was delivering coaching courses. This quote was attributed to him. The words you F***ing what? spring to mind.

"My spells at Leeds, Middlesbrough, Birmingham and Wednesday all turned out to be fire-fighting jobs, where I had about a five-week window to improve results before pressure came to bear from fans and the board." Monk said on a coaching course at Queen's University, via YorkshireLive.

"All those clubs had fallen from grace but their supporters, and chairmen, still had a high level of expectations when it came to performances.

"I basically had to put in a system of play that suited the squad of players I had at those clubs in an attempt to get us out of trouble. That is the reality of managing at a club where you know you've both a limited budget and time to get things right.”

If it looks like a shyster, acts like shyster and talks like a shyster then it's safe to say it's definitely Garry Monk.

Dislikable, dishonest and deluded, has left every club he has managed under a cloud and with his integrity questioned.

One of our very worst appointments, the Liz Truss of football management.

Given untold amounts of money to spend on the best available players (or in this case, to line the pockets of you and your agent) by a chairman who wanted to "smash the league". Don't think that's anyone's definition of a fire-fighting job

There isn't anything in that nonsense that's accurate.

I basically had to put in a system of play that suited the squad of players I had at those clubs in an attempt to get us out of trouble.

He did anything but that. He bought a load of players to play a certain system and then changed the system every week. He spent a huge amount. He had some very talented players at his disposal including several experienced championship high scorers. If we weren't favourites at the start of the season we were at least one of the favourites. Any trouble we were in was down to him.

50mill to spend, signed all the players he wanted and he was fire fighting....what an absolute chancer.

The fact no one wants him tells me that his character has caught up with him, I suspect that Wilder is well en route to that same fate.

He did very well to make such a good living as a manager considering it’s based on the back of a good couple of months managing Michael Laudrup’s Swansea team. Didn’t he essentially engineer a situation where Laudrup was sacked so he could take over?

He’s an absolute charlatan.

I’d be very surprised if he gets another job in the second tier or above at any point. I think everyone knows he’s a chancer by now.
