Tories pressured BBC over Johnson's claim Starmer failed to prosecute Jimmy Savile - Guardian article

It was a deliberate malicious policy of throwing enough mud regardless of how crazy or fictious it was.

But that’s the tories to a tee. Look at mad Nad’s shocking behaviour over ch4 blatant lies to push through a vindictive spiteful policy with no merit or public interest.

I was on a bus a few weeks after the saville claims and a passenger was talking about starmer to his friend quite loudly and the bus driver spoke up

“he defended that jimmy saville ye know. “

Says it all.

First off, we have over 600 mp's. Plenty are going to be racist at some level. That's a given, unpleasant but true.

Secondly, we have 600 mp's somr are going to be tw@ts (sorry Rob)

Some of us have been saying this sort of stuff has been happening for years but were laughed out of town.

Whenever we did try and point this out we were dismissed as cranks, lunatics, Trots, hard lefties, whatever else. Issues never debated, just dismissed, ignored, laughed at, brushed under the carpet. People smeared, bullied, doorstepped, lied about and lied to.

The UK political establishment and news media is basically just a group of the very worst people doing the very worst things and getting away with it.

It makes my p*ss boil. I hate it. The worst thing is that it did not have to be like this.,

I am not sure that's true Lefty. I think people were largely saying "what's the options?"

I get people don't like starmer, I ain't keen. But......

Also the options were one party offering a mild, Northern European-style social democracy and one offering nothing but a three-word slogan led by a lying, racist and homophobic sack of sh*t.

That we ended up with the latter tells you everything you need to know about this country really works, and why we’re currently in the gutter with little or no hope of being hauled out of it.

And it’s not even about Corbyn, it’s about well over a decade of this. Of ideological and needless austerity, of rampant corruption, of decline, of lying and war-mongering and bullying and casual and overt racism and sexism and homophobia and crushing anybody with an alternative opinion into the ground, of fraud, of wastage, of the DEATH of citizens for having the temerity to require the assistance and support of the welfare state, of the wilful underfunding on the NHS, of Grenfell, Windrush, the hostile environment, the collusion, the asset stripping, the private dividends and public subsidies, the obfuscation, Jennifer Accuri, the U-turns, the burying of reports and investigations, of Brexit, the scandal of the postal workers, of the Royal Mail, of Greensill and the unprecedented number of strikes, the riots and corporate tax avoidance, of Partygate and the WhatsApp messages, of PPE, Mone, porn in the commons, countless resignations and breaches of the ministerial code.

This could not have happened without the aid and active support of a complicit news media.

Great Post and absolutely nailed it.

What's the issue with KS do you think?

I get that some voters are swayed by personalities rather than policies, but I'm not sure what the issue with him actually is?
I can only speak for myself. I think he keeps his beliefs to himself and toes a line to win an election. Whilst getting the tories out of no 10 is important, I would rather starmer trusted the electorate, was clear in his beliefs and offering.

I have no doubt he will be a very good administrator, his career to date highlights that he has a great attention to detail and can run a team dealing with complex issues.

He will be a good leader, but my issue is where is he leading us.
