The end?

Feels more like the violent death-throws of European empire building and military backed imperialism to me
Feels to me like those entities that create wars and the reasons behind them had a look at how you can do that in the modern age.. Needing money, power, control.. and they just took it.

No need for camouflage or conscription.. it all just seems a bit drawn out.

Yes it seems like a war game to them and meanwhile the loss of life is appalling, truly evil.

Things just got very feisty behind the scenes.
I can't say much, but you don't **** on 32 million quid's worth of USA gear without getting properly spanked.

The FSB HQ in Rostov and the major air base down there are likely just the start.

And watch the Bosporous
I have seen rumours that Turkey have agreed to let US navy into the Black Sea for "search and recovery" of the drone.
I have also seen reports that Poland and Estonia are donating MIG fighters, and once this happens I assume others will follow suit(I have a suspicion that this sudden change regarding fighters is the green light given by USA).
Also I have seen on the news that Putin is having a meeting with Xi next week in Moscow and that Chinese companies have been supplying drone parts and weapons to Russia.
What are yours or your friends thoughts on the current 'rumours'?
Any information I get is from Social media and it's sometimes difficult to separate the truth from BS, so I try to look at multiple sources and read between the lines and try to figure out if these people saying them have any motive or have been correct on information previously, but even then it's not really reliable(unlike Borolads Information)

He's in pretty heavy duty meetings all day related to the drone and consequences, and I doubt I will get much from him until the weekend maybe. And the stuff from those meetings is off limits. He can't discuss, even with close friends. But I can confirm that the US will have ships in the Black Sea.

Thank you. I appreciate it is very delicate and sensitive information and it literally effects millions of lives, but appreciate anything and everything you are able to speak about.

This is sounding like it could escalate quite quickly. Don't really want the US directly acting against any RF asset.

Whoever thought it would be okay to take the Reaper out, must have taken leave of their vodka addled senses...

Did anyone think it would be ok to take it out? Sounds like they really messed up clipping it. Strikes me that no one is really in control of the Russian Air Force if that kind of action is allowed.

What it shows for me is that Putin rather isn't in charge anymore, he is so Ill and/or drug ridden that he isn't thinking like he normally did a few years back or he is brown bread. This wouldn't of happened so blatantly with a stable Putin, I'm not saying he wouldn't of done this kind of thing but he would of done it without getting caught and without an easy way to trace this back to Russian politics or military and been a lot more subtle about it.
On another point regarding the drone, could the reason they sprayed fuel onto the drone be partly to clog the engine and partly so when it landed it caused a oil slick on the surface which could be picked up by satellite when it crashed which would help with recovery?

In all honesty, that Drone was most likely on a spying mission against Russia and the information gathered would have found it's way to Ukraine, so Russia probably was, to some degree, reasonably justified in taking it down. It is in a war. Very clever and skillful how they did it.

Even so, it's bound to have repercussions for them.

I don't think the US will get directly involved as in declare war. I think they will lift a lot of the restrictions on Ukraine regarding targets and weapons that can be donated.
I also think the US will have a naval presence in the Black Sea. I have a feeling that they will get permission from Turkey to pass through into the black sea and Turkey will be given extra help rebuilding after the natural disasters recently.

Not sure I agree with that "clever and skilful" would entail

1. Not getting caught doing it
2. Not tawting it with an expensive fighter jet (which was probably damaged in the collision too).

Of course that would assume that they care that the world knows and they probably don't.

You are pretty much on the money.

The munitions depot by the FSB was hit by a high precision, long range weapon (it went through a blast window in the roof ... a sort of release valve in the case of explosions within to prevent lateral blast).

And the collision was a mistake. Having buzzed and sprayed fuel on it, the risk to the Russian jet from a collision was significant.

I hadn't realised there was a collision.

Even so, a Russian jet firing a missile to take out an American drone is likely to have far more fallout than a jet buzzing and 'accidentally' colliding.

Not that anything is likely to come of it anytime soon at least (if ever) but:

ICC judges issue arrest warrant against Putin over alleged war crimes

The International Criminal Court has issued an arrest warrant on Friday against Vladimir Putin, accusing him of being responsible for war crimes committed in Ukraine.
The court said in a statement that the Russian president "is allegedly responsible for the war crime of unlawful deportation of population (children) and that of unlawful transfer of population (children) from occupied areas of Ukraine to the Russian Federation".
It also issued a warrant for the arrest for Maria Alekseyevna Lvova-Belova, Russia's commissioner for children’s rights, on similar allegations.
Moscow has denied allegations of war crimes since it invaded Ukraine in February last year.

I hear Turkey are giving access to the Black Sea only for the recovery of the drone. Although what swimmy type things get ‘accidentally‘ dropped overboard while they’re there is anyone‘s guess.
