Auf Wiedersehen, Pet

Comedy writing at its best. Firstly by the creators D1ck Clement and Ian La Frenais ( who wrote the Likely Lads series) and then Stan Hey ( Football Manageress) who was also a brilliant writer.

Their quality comes through especially in the first two series which are , in my opinion, the best. Sadly Gary Holton died half way through Series 2 and he appeared sporadically in the later episodes of that series as offcuts from earlier filming.
They even used crew members in a wig, the scene where he is bundled out of the bar is very obviously not him. I often wonder if the original plan was for him to be the love interest at the end and not oz but Hortons death forced a quick change but who knows

They used his voice from an earlier scene. "Hang on, hang on, what's all this then" or words to that effect.

Edit: It might have been 'what am I supposed to do?'
