    Footballers not at Euro 2024

Luke Thomas is in my Euro 2024 album, so surprised he's not there 🙂

    Mediterranean cruise advice .?

Can't help you with sea cruises as not done one myself and don't sell them, however it's also worth considering a river cruise - 7 days down the Danube for example can take you through four countries and you're right next to all the sights, or you can do France, Portugal even Egypt as examples.

Targeting a midfielder and Ayling according to the Northern Echo

West Brom managed to sign Swift and Wallace on frees, was it 2 or 3 seasons ago? Both look like good decisions despite never having played higher than the Championship.

    Calf injury

Sounds like a possible Achilles tendon - the pop is a giveaway, I did both of mine the last two years playing cricket, both innocuous. Don't walk on it until you've had it assessed because a full rupture will have you on crutches for several weeks.

Premier League clubs to hold vote on scrapping VAR.

I quite like the fact(as a fan) of being able to complain about a controversial decision, so I really don't see the benefit - especially as there is still plenty of controversy as to what is and isn't overturned by VAR. Much rather have the decision in real time, whichever way it goes...

Who do you get told you look like?

Only happened the once (on the basis I look nothing like him) but I thoroughly disappointed the check in agent at JFK when she checked my passport to discover I wasn't Prince Harry!

    Croatia hotel recommendations

I don't know where Rabat is I'm afraid. Pula (Istria) is very pretty but a fair distance from the other places - but Bosnia is very cheap and a world away from the tourism in the other places mentioned. Very touristy but Plitvice Lakes is a must if you're travelling up to Istria from the South...

Norwich / Leeds. West Brom / Southampton: Today's Championship Play-offs

I'm not sure about this. I know we finished 8th and would have loved to have a playoff game to watch, but given the gulf between the Prem and Championship I think that to give a team that was worse than 7 other teams over the course of the season the chance to be promoted is just a bit too far.

    Croatia hotel recommendations

I know this area well (going myself in July, and have several clients also going this year) and would suggest: Royal Neptun Dubrovnik (stunning, right at the end of the bus route so you always get a seat into the city) Cavtat is worth a visit or short stay (near Dubrovnik airport and on way to...

    Has anyone been to Bergamo-Italy?

It's a nice little place, not particularly big but with a pretty centre. Been a few years since I've been so no up to date recommendations I'm afraid. My only travel tip is that local Italian trains are very cheap, you'll get to Milan or Como for just a few euros

Charlie Elphicke: Former Tory MP jailed for two years after being found guilty of three sexual assaults

I think this is really poor judgment from the Labour party. Yes a short term political gain but someone who's clearly in it for keeping herself in a job and already tainted with the scandal is an accident waiting to happen.

    Losing to the dross

It's actually more than 36 points as for example we took 1 point out of 6 against Rotherham, i.e. 5 dropped points. Haven't worked it out exactly mind.

    Pace

It's not impossible we'd take Archer on a loan deal with a commitment to buy at a Premier League type fee if we get promoted. Imagine there will be a lot of competition but if he was to drop back to the Championship, we'd have to be in first place for his signature

    The rain in Spain.

On the other side of the coin I'm in Tanzania this week where normally the rains last from March till mid April. Due to El Nino, they're still going at some rate and half of Ngorogoro National Park was inaccessible today, while people have been dying in Kenya due to flash floods. Weather...

    Euro 2024 tickets

If it's on 1st July I'll be in Duesseldorf with my lad (not got a ticket, but we've got them for the day before in Cologne) and have a spare room at the 4* Fritz which I can let you have for a decent price if interested.

    Jamie Vardy

Definitely would take him. However he lives in the Midlands and can't see him wanting to travel to Boro - it's a hell of a round trip to watch the games let alone train multiple times a week!

    All inclusive family holidays...portugal...go!!!

So, the classic place Brits in Portugal go is the Algarve (and I most recently went in February). It's warm, friendly, the beaches are stunning (check out the Praia de Felesia, which is amazing) and the quality of accommodation is generally high, but, it is for the most part not very authentic...

    Leeds losing again

Ipswich have Hull away then Coventry away, who (at least at the moment) have a mathematical chance of making the playoffs. It's most likely second place will go down to the last game.

Really looking forward to the Euros now

Reposting that I have some very good value hotels (sometimes as low as half the price you'll see online) for mostly the knockout games, having booked them in advance. Most are 4*, so not cheap, but good value. Mostly one nighters, but two nights in Hamburg for the quarters and Berlin for the...

    * The Unofficial "Official" Boro v Leeds United [04/24] Match Day Thread *

Howson was excellent. Has that ability to make the right decision in every situation and looks like he has the engine of a 26 year old not 36
